Reading, writing and arithmetic are skills which help some of the world’s poorest people find long-term solutions to tackle the poverty in which they live. In 2000 Mothers' Union responded to the need and started a Literacy & Development Programme.

During Lent this year give thanks for your ability to read and write and, as you count your blessings, give a small amount of money each day to help the Literacy & Development Programme to continue.
